The Program

Music education for an advanced touring ensemble of young musicians between the ages of 12 and 18.

The program runs year-round and consists of:

  • Weekly group lessons and rehearsals

  • Master classes and performances with guest artists.

  • Music Theory classes with frequent homework assignments to fine tune listening skills, song arrangement, composition, and additional skills.

  • Professional quality shows performed for public audiences.

  • A minimum of one major tour or trip per year. This is the highlight of the program and the strongest teaching tool.

Students are selected by Interview/Assessment:

  • We are looking for students who WANT to learn! Students must be ambitious, dedicated, aspiring, and motivated.

  • Must demonstrate foundational knowledge and physical skills (bar chords, shuffle beats, scales, etc.) on your instrument.

  • It is not necessary to prepare a specific song for the audition.

  • Musicians may play any traditional rock, jazz, orchestra, or band instrument, as long as we feel we can help them grow.

  • PGRA must be the student’s primary extracurricular activity so that conflicts are resolved in our favor.
